Kigali View mapWe are delighted to invite you to the 2nd African Conference on Machine Learning, Optimization and Applications (MLOA) which will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, September 22 – 24, 2025.
Known as the „City of a Thousand Hills,“ Kigali is renowned for its stunning, year-round green landscapes and considered as one of the most beautiful, cleanest, and safest cities in Africa. In addition to its natural charm, Kigali offers a vibrant urban experience with exceptional organic highland coffee, gourmet cuisine, world-class hotels, and tourist sites.
The conference brings together African scientists, international experts, postgraduate students, policymakers, industry leaders, service providers, and research institutions to discuss the current status and future developments in machine learning, optimization, and their applications. By facilitating the exchange of ideas and collaborative partnerships, the conference aims to advance scientific progress, support African development, and promote social change.
We warmly invite researchers, academics, practitioners, and students specializing in machine learning, optimization, and their applications to submit abstracts and contribute to this rare and significant conference event on the African continent.

Call for Abstracts:
The conference will take place in three streams:
- Stream 1: Machine Learning: Novel Contributions and Applications
- Stream 2: Optimization: Theory, Methods and Applications
- Stream 3: Applications: Industrial Applications and Sustainability.
Submission: Paper submission can be completed online at www.aims.rw/conferencesubmissionportal. Submissions via email will not be accepted.
Format: Extended abstracts should be minimum 1 and maximum of 2 pages long.
Styles: Abstracts should follow the formatting guidelines provided in the doc and xx_abstract.tex files, wehere xx is a place holder for the name of the first author.
Presentation: Presentations are conducted in person.

- The conference is non-residential and delegates are requested to make their own accommodation arrangements. Suggestions for accommodations are to be announced soon.
- Visa: Citizens of all countries are allowed to get Rwandan visa upon arrival without prior application.
